Las Cruces is fortunate enough to boast a deeply rooted culture in art. In fact, the city houses many different art galleries, classes, and exhibits from Mesilla to Downtown and out near Picacho. Each year, you can experience, first-hand, artists at work and attend various workshops that can be fun for the entire family. Explore new art in 2020 and do it this month! This year is the 22nd annual Las Cruces event, “For the Love of Art.”
For the Love of Art dedicates the entire month of February to bringing Las Crucens closer to the art and artists that encompass this beautiful southern New Mexico community. This Las Cruces event offers a variety of explorative topics and gatherings including visual arts and performances, plus it embodies the essence and the unique talents of teachers and artists, alike.
22nd Annual Celebration of Art in Las Cruces
As a month-long event, there’s plenty of opportunities for folks to explore all that For the Love of Art event offers. Officially, community events kick-off Friday, February 7th from 5 pm to 8 pm. The annual ArtForm Members Exhibit will open during the monthly downtown Art Ramble with a reception to be held at Cruces Creatives (205 E. Lohman).

Art Ramble
Need a great Friday night out? Las Cruces events continue the Art Ramble during For the Love of Art. As a self-guided tour, visitors get to explore the galleries, shops, businesses, and restaurants of Downtown Las Cruces. Entertainment and refreshments are available and make for a great evening on the town.
Mas Art
Looking to stimulate your creative side during February’s For the Love of Art tour? Mas Art located in Downtown Las Cruces offers some of the best exhibits and collaborations in the community. This month, they’ll be featured in the kick-off Art Ramble, hosting a reception and displaying some of Las Cruces artists’ work in their framing studio. Get a chance to talk to some leading voices in the art community.
In addition, Mas Art also provides a fun and creative art courses to the public. Taught by the amazing artist, Mary Zawacki, who will also be displaying her own works at Studio of Jeri Desrochers (3655 Canyon Ridge Arc) on February 8 & 9 and February 15 & 16th. Learn how to draw like a true art enthusiast and discover the power of creativity through these amazing workshops and demonstrations.

Artist Studio Tours
**Artist Studio tours are held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Along with the community events, live demonstrations, and exciting showcases, get your chance to visit some of the most well established and well-known art studios in Las Cruces. During For the Love of Art, you can visit the following studios and witness the artists at work, plus have a chance to talk to them directly.
